ACT Questions

You’re likely to face reading comprehension, short answer, essay, multiple option and true/false kind questions. Every type of question is designed to measure a particular kind of understanding. Some concentrate on facts. Others focus on ideas.

Any ACT test question should be attempted in such a way where not much time is spent on each one.
Studying with flash cards is an effective strategy for multiple choice and true or false questions. These questions are primarily intended to measure your capability to remember facts and rule out incorrect responses. According to your scoring structure, there may or may not be an benefit to guessing on questions that you do not know. You should find out ahead time the policies on guessing.
Your comprehension of broad ideas and your general understanding of the subject are measured by reading comprehension, essay, short answer along with other more complex types of questions.
Demonstrate that you have conceptual knowledge about a subject when answering these types of questions even if some of the particulars have evaded you. Your chances of getting a good score are much higher if you are able to show that you have a good grasp of an concept even when you have forgotten some particulars.
Lots of ACT tests consist of questions which have different value in points assigned to them. In most cases multiple choice questions are worth much less in point value than questions where you have to use your own words or questions which are more complicated. It is very important to use most of your test time solving questions which carry more point value.
When test day comes, remember to scan through all of the questions and answer those you immediately know, and then return to work on questions that take more time or that you are unsure of the answer to. This will ensure that you are in a position to answer as many questions as possible prior to your allotted exam time runs out.
